Terms & Conditions

Quotes: Valid for 7 calendar days & are based on your individual requirements including size, design & delivery. In the event of your date becoming filled by another order prior to your deposit being paid, we are not obliged to honour the quotation.

Payment: A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required to secure your booking & reserve your date; by paying your deposit you are accepting these terms & conditions. The final balance payment is due 4-weeks prior to your wedding date; if this is not received by the due date stated on your invoice, then we retain the right to cancel your order & the deposit is forfeited.

Change of dates: If you would like to postpone your order please notify us ASAP.  We will always try to accommodate your new date, however if  this is not possible please note your deposit is non refundable. Additional costs may be incurred for the date change.

Cancellation: Should your circumstances change dramatically and you need to cancel the booking please note that if less than 12 weeks before your date 50% of the invoice will become due.

Collection Plan: If you have opted to collect your cake all transport/storage/assembly instructions will be provided prior to collection, along with the address & collection time/date. Once the cake has been collected, responsibility for its safety lies solely with the client.

The Product: Cake on the Lake creations are handmade, and therefore are subject to slight variations/differences in appearance.

Amendments to cake design & recipe: Wherever possible we will try to accommodate any requested changes you wish to make, up to 4-weeks prior to delivery; this may incur additional charges. No changes can be made with less than 4 weeks prior to delivery / collection.

Allergies: It is the clients’ responsibility to advise Cake us of any allergy requirements upon booking. Nuts/peanuts & products containing nuts/peanuts are not handled in our kitchen, however some products used have a ‘may contain/made in a factory’ warning label on them. Allergen information will be provided to the venue upon delivery of the cake. For collections allergen information will be on the box. Please ask if  you would like a full list of ingredients.

Buttercream Cakes: These cakes are not as stable as sugar paste cakes, therefore cannot be sold in the warm summer months (May to August), unless the final venue confirms they will be kept in a cooler or an air-conditioned room.

Best Before Date: For optimal freshness and best taste, our cakes should be eaten within 3-5 days of delivery.

Force-Majeure: Cake on the Lake is not liable for any delays/problems owing to but not limited to, accidents, incidents, disasters, pandemics, severe weather, illness, injury or death, or any force majeure.

We reserve the right to use photos of your products for advertisement via the website, social media, brochures, competitions etc.

In the rare event Cake on the Lake has to cancel your order due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, all monies paid will be fully refunded within 10-days by bank transfer.
